I thought it was about time for an update on the kids and some fun pictures of Madison's birthday party Sock Hop! I should probably make separate personal and business blogs, but truly I love for the people I photograph to know the true me as much as I want to share my life with my friends, so for now here's a glipse of my family!
Madison...my mom, step-mom and I were just discussing the other day how my oldest dd, Madison, has a mommy filter. Meaning for some reason everything I say to her is engrained as gospel and if anyone else does/says anything she thinks isn't in line with how I would do it/say it they are immediately questioned or distrusted. I'm not so sure how I feel about this. Being a failable human I can say with great certainty that I don't want everything I say and do to be gospel, however, I must admit that, at times, this is a great comfort to know that she values me that much. My prayer is that my words and actions point her to God who is the only one with all the right answers who won't fail her and who can lead her on the right path!!
Abby...Let's just say that Mommy's words aren't gospel to Abby...only her own thoughts are! Ha! She is quite the firecracker!! Her latest craze is boys. Can you believe that...she's only 4!!! Her best friend at church is Benjamin. She has kissed him twice! Thankfully she told me last Sunday he wouldn't let her kiss him! Her closest friend at Mother's Day out is also a boy. His name is Sam. I haven't heard any kissing stories about Sam...yet! Let's hope it stays that way! Abby has always been drawn to males. She LOVES, LOVES, her Paw Paw and then there is Tom and Paul at church! I think she has all of their hearts too! She is a tomboy, but she's also a girly girl. I think I wrote about that in my last personal post! I think it's probably wise to ask for prayer that Matt and I now before we get into the teenage years that we will have wisdom and endurance! :)
Max...tee hee! He is about as cute as a two-year-old could possibly be! He talks non-stop and I am picking up more and more of his language, but he still doesn't put much effort into speaking susinctly (sp?). It sounds mostly like he has a mouth full of marbles while he's talking! He sure does have a lot to say though! His absolute, most favorite things in the world are trains. He eats with them, sleeps with them and is almost never seen without one!
His newest houdini move is climbing out of the crib! He did it four times in one day a couple of days ago. The first time Abby was on the couch watching a movie and I was on the computer (surprise, surprise) and all of the sudden Abby said, "What is Max doing on the couch?". He had climbed out of the bed, over the gate and onto the couch as quite as a mouse so as not to be discovered. He had is paci too...paci is a big no no outside of his bed. I've told him not to climb out of the crib every time I've put him down since that day and he's stayed put! We are going to pull the toddler bed down from the attic though. It's time! I will probably cry the first time he sleeps in it since he might be our last baby!

And now to leave you with some of the pictures from the sock hop! It was a blast. Before perusing them, please know that I had on my birthday party mommy hat and not my photographer's hat! I was even too busy to find my external flash so these are all taken with my pop up flash or available light!

some really great shots here! love that one of her in teh pink skirt. is that a fake wood floor? I see sky in her sunglasses - so I'm thinking you're set up outside/garage? Really nice light in those ones.

Thanks for all of the sweet comments. Yes, The wood floor is put together in the garage (well, until I ruined it but that's another story). I LOVE the lighting I get in my garage!!! I wish I could make some kind of heating system to use the garage studio year round with the door open. Thinkin' that wouldn't work! :)
these pictures speak to what fun the kids are having. I used to love 50s day at school, so I think I have pics similar to this somewhere. I really like the pink skirt, where she's sitting on the floor. Super sweet.
