Day 192...
Swimming (well, actually just sitting in about 2 feet of water) and eating a Popsicle at the same time...it doesn't get any better than that! Finally the rains have stopped and the kids can play in the pool again. I'm really not complaining about the rain though...it was amazingly nice to have such cooler temperatures. I've lived in Texas for almost 30 years and I can't remember ever having temperatures in the 80s in July. At least not for a couple of weeks in a row. Now we are back into the 90s and the humidity is making it feel more like triple digits, which is not so fun, but we are loving the time in the pool.
For the month of July we have some activity going on every night of the week. Madison has gymnastics on Mondays and Wednesdays, Abby has princess ballerina camp on Thursdays, either Matt or I have bible study on Tuesdays (girls and guys switch) and we have home group on Fridays. They are all fun activities though and since Daddy is off for the summer there is no mad rush to get HG done and kids out the door. He takes them to their activities and I cook dinner...it works!
Let's have a quick update on the kids...
Madison...It is so nice having her home for the summer! She is enjoying having a friend her age to play with during the day (I'm keeping a seven year old girl for the summer). She is so helpful with the little ones and it just makes me realize how much I miss her when she's not here! I hope the summer doesn't fly too fast!
Abby...Abby is in to imaginative play big time and is always needing to include mommy. Today we invited Ariel (the Little Mermaid)over for Madison's pretend birthday party and we swam with a dolphin friend (whose name changed three times) and I'm sure there were many more adventures that just aren't coming to me at the moment. She is still my little spitfire! Some days it can be exhausting, but I wouldn't want her to be any other way! She truly has a joyful heart!
Max...Can you say two?!?! When he doesn't get his way he screams and cries and is testing pretty much every boundary there is. However, after having three of my own, and teaching, and working in many daycare centers, and doing a home daycare for 7 years, I think I am pretty qualified to say that the behaviors he's exhibiting right now aren't his nature. I think he will be a pretty laid back and happy child. The fits he throws are just for show and he doesn't get truly wrapped up in them (usually...tee hee). He can be tricked into a smile pretty easily even when he's in the middle of a fit! Boy is he a cutie pa tootie!

All a child needs is a Popsicle and few inches of cool water. Paradise. LOL Great shots.
