...just how much I love portrait parties!!! They are a lot of work, but so worth it!! Just look at all of the beautiful children I got to photograph all in one day! This party was unique in that each session was just a single child. I love the interaction between siblings/families, but it's extra fun for me to really connect one on one with a child and find what goofy thing I can do to bring out their true personality. I did a lot of jumping, growling and making silly faces/noises. I just LOVE my job!!!

Thanks for the very kind comments!!
I thought I'd answer the question about eyes here.
The most important thing is good light. Catchlights make all the difference. I angled the kids so that the window was at a 45 degree angle to their faces. Also, I'm a big believer in focus points over recomposing and I work really hard to hold my camera very steady. Also, my lens Sigma 28-70 is very crisp and I LURVE my D300.
For PPing, I usually add a soft light layer and erase back the face using a layer mask, then I use a white brush to brush back the soft light layer on the eyes. (Unless the soft light layer made them too dark), I also dodge the catchlights and right around the pupil once or twice at 12% opacity. That's about it...
HTHs someone!!
OH MY that 3rd shot....now that is something...I LOVE IT!!!
