It's a Photography Class...

* due to several requests, I am going to be teaching a photography class in August. If you think you might be interested, please read all of the details below carefully. This will be a 'jump start your photography class' with information that will hopefully give you a better understanding of the basics.

Who this is for?

Anyone with a DSLR camera who wants to learn how to shoot in manual
and get consistently good exposure and better pictures.


So, here are the details so far...

I will teach the class in three parts.
* Saturday, August 9th from 9am-12pm...understanding exposure (ISO, aperture and shutter speed triangle), composition, lens choice, and general rules for getting better pictures using your manual settings and, if time, a q&a session.

* Thursday, August 14th from 6-8pm...hands on practice at Veteran's park in Arlington (if we have a large group I will do two of these)

* Saturday, August 16th from 9am-12pm...general photo editing and question and answer session.

The cost of the class is $80. If you can only attend one of the Saturday classes let me know and I can quote you a different price.

Now for the disclaimer...please read this carefully.

I have much to learn still. I am happy to share what I know and hopefully help you move more quickly through the basics in your understanding of photography and shooting in manual. There will probably be lots of questions I don't know the answer to. Especially with other camera brands or editing software (I shoot with a Nikon D300 and D50). I plan to teach shooting in manual. I don't shoot in aperture priority or shutter priority or anything besides manual because manual offers me the most control. I highly suggest knowing your camera (read the manual) before class as I won't know where to adjust the settings on other cameras. I really want everyone to understand that this class is a basics class. I will provide handouts with the information and space to take notes.

If we do not have enough people I will return your payment. Also, I will return any payments made if you find out you can't come before August 1st. After August 1st I will not be able to offer refunds, but you can send a replacement. If I have more than 20 interested, I will have a waiting list.
